You deserve a coffee bar

This old house was at one time duplexed so the upstairs area, which is now the master suite/family room, also features a tiny kitchenette. It’s very much a decor project in progress. (That’s my way of saying I’m not responsible for that wallpaper!) At first I thought we would make it into an upstairs laundry room, which would be super convenient rather than having to lug laundry down two flights of stairs to the basement. We might still do that in the future, but for now I’m actually enjoying us grownups having our own little kitchen.

Last night our single serve coffee maker bit the dust, which I admittedly was not very sad about because I’ve always wanted a Keurig. So that thing wasn’t in the trash more than five minutes before I had ordered one on Amazon Prime Now. I  ordered at 10:00 last night and it was here by 8:30 this morning! That’s about as fast as it gets. I love the future!!!

Disclaimer: I had nothing to do with its demise. I know that I had opportunity, motive, and access but the death of that crappy little coffee maker cannot be blamed on me in any way.

There is a full-size coffee maker in the first floor kitchen, but I never make a pot just for myself. -Thus the single serve.

Now, I don’t know about you but when I order something for the house I get really excited and then start looking around on YouTube and Instagram for other people who have the same thing. I like to see how people set things up and use them. One person had made themselves a little coffee bar and I thought, “That would be so cool!” It’s not like it required me to go out and buy a bunch of stuff, just gathering a few spare things I had from around the house. So I made a little nook just for Dave and I to have our morning coffee. And then on Saturday mornings we don’t even have to leave the comfort of our master suite. We can have a nice cup of coffee and watch the morning TV before we get on with our day.

Those to-go cups from Starbucks are awesome. $2 each, they last forever, and your heart isn’t broken if you lose it. I don’t know why, but travel mugs just evaporate around here.

I mean, why not, right? Such a simple little luxury. It’s right outside the bedroom and will feel like a treat on busy mornings. Would you do this for yourself? I think you deserve it!

You could easily do this in the corner of your bedroom or wherever you get ready for your day with some shelves or a cute little cart.

That wallpaper is on the chopping block. Not my doing, not my pick. I take no responsibility. 🙂
