Local author Pam Turlow to spin stories at Nest Vintage Modern

The Cotton Candy Road Trip author to tell tales of vintage amusement parks this Saturday in La Grange

This coming Saturday (8/10/2013) at 8pm, join author Pam Turlow as she takes us along on her tour of 40 vintage American amusement parks.

“It’s a little like ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, except with roller coasters.” smiles Pam Turlow, author of the part memoir, part travelogue and part serendipitous journey into the spiritual realm, The Cotton Candy Road Trip. The book traces her travels to over forty vintage amusement parks across the United States with humor, gentleness, and a sense of playful wonder.

The Cotton Candy Road Trip takes place over a two-year period, coinciding with her father’s decline of health, and her own soul searching for meaning beyond monetary confines.

The book is written in diary style, with chapters numbered for each park visit. The Appendices include Pam’s Top Five List of my favorite parks, a list of favorite foodstuffs found at the parks, and more.

Join Pam at Nest Vintage Modern in La Grange for an intimate, magical evening taking a fun stroll down the path of vintage American amusement history. Stories to be told, traded, and treasured. What a great way to spend a late summer evening. Free to all.

Nest is located at 26 S. La Grange Rd. in the heart of downtown La Grange, IL.
