Friends and family have been chipping in to get the store ready in time for Thursday’s inspection and next weekend’s grand opening.
I’ve been hunting and picking vintage furniture to restore and paint for the shop, ordering new product, getting consignments in, pricing merchandise, and cleaning up. So much left to do, but it’s starting to look like a real store!
Our friends the Hickey family came by on the 4th of July to paint the store Enamelware by Martha Stewart. The rest of the store fixtures are staying in the pale turquoise area so the product can stand out.
So as of this Saturday, July 14th, 2012, we will be open for business! The official store description is:
40’s farmhouse decor meets affordable Anthropologie. Giftware, jewelry, painted vintage furniture, natural bath & body, and accessories. Living happier by re-using, upcycling, restoring, and enjoying vintage objects around the house and out in nature.
We’re only a 2 minute drive from the famous Brookfield Zoo, and steps away from the Brookfield Metra station. Fabulous drinks and dining are right next door and across the street at our neighborhood restaurants.
I’m very excited to be planting my pin on the Brookfield shopping map. This is a lifelong dream. I would be honored to see you and hope you’ll come pay us a visit very soon!
