My job is tech-heavy. My home is tech-savvy. I feel like I’m wired in 24 hours a day, so my next project is intentionally as low-fi as possible. I’m giving quilting a try to see if I enjoy it, hoping it’ll be a quiet and peaceful activity instead of frustrating and difficult. Right now it could go either way.
For my first quilt I’m using a Moda Strawberry Fields charm pack cut up to make a Friendship Star pattern which will be appliqued to white cotton squares, then pieced together with my aunts and cousins when we go to Texas for a visit next month. That’s the part I’m really looking forward to, knowing that my family’s loving hands brought it together. That’ll make this a treasure to pass down to future generations.
If this goes well, I want to try an online bee with a few girlfriends. We’ll see!
