This chair was in my Grandmother Waters’ kitchen for as long as anyone could remember. I sat in it at her little table while she taught me how to cook over years and years.
They sent it along with her to the nursing home when she could no longer care for herself. After she passed away, I took it home and painted primer over where the home had written her name all over the back in black permanent marker. It sat in the corner of my room for many years, waiting for me to finish the project. Then this morning I found a spray paint that matched the original color, a grayish sage green. So here it is, back in all it’s glory, waiting for another little girl to sit in it, learning all the Waters cooking tricks.
